The Rare Active journey began out of necessity when the founder, Patty Vanderburgh, was heading to a kickboxing class on a sub-freezing winter morning and despised the thought of trying to fight to put sweatpants on over her shoes and shorts … so she headed to the gym in her shorts and froze. She thought to herself, there has got to be a better way.

Finally there is a better way – Rare Active!

Rare Active was born in Dayton, Ohio and is manufactured in a small, privately owned manufacturing plant in Minnesota. We are all about bringing manufacturing, employment and entrepreneurship back to the USA.

What makes these pants so unique is the waistband. You can open each pant leg completely which allows you to quickly and easily slip your shoes through the openings. Then, once on your waist, you can easily zip down each pant leg to create a flattering outerwear pant.
